Poste: by 2020 revenues of 30 billion and 8 thousand hires

Between now and 2020, the turnover di Poste Italiane will grow to 30 billion euros, while the investments will reach three billion, of which 500 million will be allocated to the redevelopment of post offices. In addition, strong growth is expected in the next few years logistics. These are the main points of the "Poste 2020" plan presented today by the company's CEO, Francesco Caio.

"Ours is a development plan - the manager specified - which does not envisage layoffs, but only the continuation of the facilitated exit plan begun in 2010". On the contrary: in the next five years they are expected 8 thousand hires , retraining of another 7 employees “to respond to the changing needs of the market”.

As for the process privatization of Poste, Caio explained that in the coming months a precise timetable will be established: "We are working together with the shareholder, the Ministry of Economy - he said -, and we will decide on the most precise timetable in the coming months".

Poste Italiane also prepares one remodulation of delivery prices, explained the CEO: “Citizens have gotten used to paying less for slow deliveries and more for fast ones. We are market operators and we adapt to the market situation”.

As for the covenant chapter with Alitalia, according to Caio it is "an opportunity for cooperation in industrial logic, a collaboration that concerns logistics and payment cards, which are functional to our business".

Finally, according to the CEO "the Poste Italiane 2020 plan is very ambitious, but it cannot be separated from a rethinking the universal postal service”, which must be “adapted to the new needs of Italian families”, while now it “appears misaligned with real needs”, as well as “no longer sustainable from an economic point of view”.

For this reason, concluded Caio, "it is important to define the scope, quality and value of the universal service products, in line with customer needs, before the signing of the new 2015-2019 program contract scheduled for March 2015" .
