Poste and Generali shine in the Brand Finance ranking

Generali, Poste Italiane, Unipolsai and Cattolica Assicurazioni among the top 100 insurance companies in the world. This is certified by the analysis contained in the 2020 edition of the Brand Finance Insurance 100.

Special mention this year especially for the company led by Matteo Del Fante which takes first place in the world rankings for brand reputation. The strength indicator Brand Strength Index (BSI) – which measures the effectiveness of the image and reputation, analyzes the management and investments that influence the brand, customer proximity, employee satisfaction and economic return – assigns Poste Italiane a score of 85.5 and a corresponding rating of AAA.

The CEO of Brand Finance, David Haigh, explained the primacy as follows: "A perfect combination formed by omnipresence, accessibility, offer of international level products, an excellent reputation and level of transparency, has made the Poste Italiane insurance brand the strongest in the world".

The CEO of Poste Italiane, Matthew Del Fante, commented: "Poste Italiane's global leadership confirms the quality of the products and services offered and the international prestige achieved by the Company, which has been strengthened by the speed and flexibility with which we have guaranteed the continuity of essential services to the country and we have responded to the new needs linked to the emergency produced by Covid 19".

In fact, the "exceptional" measures put in place by Poste Italiane to respond to the needs of citizens during the coronavirus emergency contributed to pushing the company, explains Brand Finance. These initiatives, argues Brand Finance, "represent investments that have strengthened Poste Italiane's brand, in line with the business - with the aim of increasing the perceived trust and reliability, which are essential ingredients in insurance, banking and express courier – and in line with the prospect of emerging from the pandemic with an even higher brand value”.

In the general ranking of the "Top 100 most valuable insurance brands", Poste is in 21st place. The ranking sees 5 Chinese companies (with Ping An in first place), and 3 American companies in the top 10. Among the European companies, the German Allianz is in second place and the French Axa in fifth.

It comes close to the top 10 Generali which conquers the 12th place (in 2019 it was sixteenth) preceded by the Swiss Zurich. 49th is instead Unipolsai which gains three steps compared to the 52nd position conquered in 2019. For Italy it enters the Top 100 Cattolica Insurance, ranking 98th among the 100 most valuable insurance brands in the world.
