In recent days, 253 Mayors of small Municipalities have received a letter from Poste Italiane announcing the activation of a Postamat automatic teller machine for carrying out numerous services. The installation of the ATMs had been one of the requests of Uncem formally accepted by the managing director Matteo Del Fante, in front of 3.500 mayors gathered in Rome on 26 November 2018.
“The new agreement that we have formalized with the company is taking concrete shape – he explained the president of Uncem Marco Bussone – because the first 253 new Postamats arrive. We are satisfied, together with Anci, for the new virtuous path undertaken. A different dialogue from the past that brings benefits for people who live, work, study or frequent small towns and mountain areas for tourism. The activation of the Postamat is an important first step, in implementation of article 9 of law 158/2017 on small Municipalities, but we have many other things we can do to enhance postal services in inland areas of the country”.
