Poste: appeal to the Government on the Sda

The group led by Del Fante launches an appeal to the Government to unblock the situation.

The dispute between the Post Office and the unions, which are blocking the SDA site in Carpiano, escalates. For this reason, the group led by Del Fante is launching an appeal to the Government to unblock the situation. "The SDA site in Carpiano, Milan, as it is now known, has been blocked by a few dozen demonstrators for over a month without the possibility of access and recovery of around 70.000 parcels," the company said in a statement.

“Inside the sheds there are perishable goods which are generating health and hygiene problems ascertained by the competent Authorities. SDA and Poste Italiane have given their willingness to trade unions and local institutions, on numerous and repeated occasions, to find an agreement, beyond the contractual limits, to bring normality to a disastrous situation that has brought the company to its knees and compromised without a doubt the relationships with current customers who are hostage, like SDA, to the situation that has arisen”, continues Poste.

“The vast majority of workers want to defend their dignity and their job and return to work normally; towards citizens, who have been waiting for their purchases for weeks, the company expresses regret for a truly paradoxical circumstance. All possible negotiating paths have been followed, the facts and reasons of the parties have been presented to the Senate and repeatedly to all the competent authorities at a territorial level, at this point SDA absolutely needs that the local institutions allow workers to return to their workplace and to return to perform the service for suppliers, employees and citizens. Otherwise, the company will evaluate, in the short term, whether to keep the Milan site open or make different choices”.
