Poste Italiane strengthen the collaboration with Amazon to launch new faster and more flexible delivery services. The goal, explains the group led by the managing director Matteo Del Fante, is to guarantee the advantages of e-commerce to an increasing number of Italian families.
In detail, Poste has activated a new same-day delivery service in the main Italian cities (Bari, Bologna, Florence, Milan, Naples, Padua, Rome, Turin, Verona), extending deliveries by postmen also to pomeriggio.
It was also increased the number of centers where the delivery service is available on Saturdays and that of localities with services of delivery within 24 hours, including Sicily and Sardinia thanks to new air connections.
In 2018, Poste delivered over 127 million parcels, up 12,6% year-on-year, with strong acceleration in business-to-consumer volumes which recorded a 27% increase over 2017.
