The 40 euro ordinary stamp, issued today by the Ministry of Economic Development and distributed by Poste Italiane, is dedicated to the Special Intervention Group of the Carabinieri, on the 1,10th anniversary of its establishment.
The philatelic issue was presented today in Rome during a ceremony attended by Defense Minister Elisabetta Trenta, the General Commander of the Carabinieri Corps Giovanni Nistri, the Chief Executive Officer and General Manager of Poste Italiane Matteo Del Fante and the Head of Corporate Affairs of Poste Italiane Giuseppe Lasco.
The stamp dedicated to the 40th anniversary of the GIS, which is part of the thematic series "the civic sense", represents a tribute and a sign of gratitude towards a highly specialized military department that carries out an extraordinarily valuable job at the service of the community.
Poste Italiane has created a philatelic folder for the occasion which includes the postage stamp, a canceled and franked postcard and a “first day of issue” envelope.
