Poroshenko: the ceasefire will have to be signed on the Minsk table tomorrow

The news comes from the NATO summit in Wales, today and tomorrow, that Poroshenko, the Ukrainian leader, will bring the proposal for a ceasefire to the Minsk meeting between Russia, Ukraine, separatists and OSCE representatives. Poroshenko, at today's summit, said that "tomorrow in Minsk a document must be signed which provides for the gradual introduction of the Ukrainian peace plan".

Speaking at the NATO meeting, the Ukrainian president underlined the importance that the first order of business at Friday's meeting in Minsk is precisely a ceasefire ready to be signed as early as tomorrow. Furthermore NATO has said it is ready to support its members who intend to provide military assistance to Ukraine.

The approval of the détente operation passes through the discussion on the seven conditions proposed by Putin for a serious ceasefire to be signed. Withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from the southeast, the cessation of military actions of the rebels, the exclusion of the use of aviation against civilians, full and objective international control of the ceasefire, an exchange of prisoners and the creation of a humanitarian corridor. These are the points established by Putin, to define the flexibility that the Russian leader will be willing to grant.
