Popolare di Vicenza, millionaires kidnappings from Zonin's family

There are over twenty seizures authorized against Gianni Zonin and five other former managers of Popolare di Vicenza, for a total of 176 million euro. The top management of the bank, in the weeks following the opening of the investigation into the crash, "registered movable and immovable property to their wives and children to the detriment and detriment of creditors", said judge Roberto Venditti accepting part of the requests presented by savers during the sittings of the parliamentary hearing. The newspaper La Repubblica reports it today.

The title of the credit institution plummeted from 62,5 to 10 cents in a few weeks, pulverizing the more than 6 billion euros of capital owned by 118 shareholders. Starting from the next few days, the lawyers of the civil parties involved - about five thousand - will be able to proceed with the acquisition of the assets identified in the judge's provision.

For Zonin – for 19 years at the helm of the bank, accused of rigging and obstruction of supervision of Bank of Italy and the ECB - the seizure of movable or immovable property sold or given to third parties primarily concerns theWinery of family, Gianni Zonin Vineyards Sas. The manager had in fact sold shares to his children equal to 26,9%. Between the end of 2015 and 2016, the transfer of assets from Zonin to his family members was not limited to the wine business: land, buildings, real estate companies and so on.

Zonin's lawyers, taking note of the judge's decision, expressed their utmost confidence in the work of the judiciary".

On February 5, a further 106 million euros had been blocked for the hypothesis of obstacle to supervision by Consob, deposited with the bank in liquidation. At the end of April, a second line of inquiry should flow into the initial inquiry.

In short, the victims of the Vicenza crash are beginning to glimpse the concrete possibility of obtaining compensation for what was lost about two years ago.
