Popolare di Bari: via Jacobini, Giannelli arrives in its place

An era comes to an end, that of the Jacobini family, at Popolare di Bari. The bank will be led by Gianvito Giannelli, Jacobini's nephew and esteemed university professor, supported by the managing director Vincenzo De Bustis. This was announced by the bank itself by communicating the inauguration of the new board of directors.

The new top management structure has been forming close to the recent assembly which approved the budget which ended with 420 million losses – partly attributable to the difficulties created by Brussels after the acquisition of Tercas – and the appointment of the new board of directors in which the president Marco Jacobini remained. The latter then resigned, also due to the moral suasion exercised towards him regarding the advisability of remaining at the helm of the bank to which he has linked his name for a very long time.

Therefore, the new Board accepted the resignation and, in its first meeting, proceeded with the new appointments. Gregorio Monachino, who resigned from his position as general manager, was co-opted to the board of directors. "The Bank thanks the members of the outgoing board of directors - specifies the bank note - for the work done, in the persons of the President Marco Jacobini, and the directors Giovanni Viti, Luca Montrone and Modestino Di Taranto and wishes the incoming directors a good job Giulio Codacci Pisanelli, Francesco Ago and Patrizia Michela Giangualano”.
