Popolare Bari postpones the assembly for spa to the end of December

Due to the strong uncertainties caused by the recent order of the Council of State on the withdrawal of members of popular banks, the board of Popolare di Bari has decided to postpone the meeting for the transformation of the bank into a joint stock company to 27 December

Banca Popolare di Bari has postponed the shareholders' meeting for the transformation into a joint-stock company to 27 December, according to the provisions of the reform of cooperative banks. The postponement of the meeting, initially called for 17 December, was decided by the bank's board following the strong uncertainties caused by the order of the Council of State which temporarily suspended the parts of the Bank of Italy's implementing circular concerning the withdrawal of the shareholders, referring the case to the evaluation of the Constitutional Court.

A Treasury decree is also expected on the intricate matter which will move forward the assemblies of the Popolari which have yet to be transformed into joint stock companies but which can be issued when there is a government in full powers.

Assopopolari has also expressed itself in this sense in recent days.
