Pop Vicenza, Bank of Italy: "We had no power over the share price"

The Bank of Italy did not have a direct power to determine the price of the shares of Banca Popolare di Vicenza, which was the responsibility of the shareholders' meeting. Via Nazionale specified this after the controversies of the last few weeks. The clarification was also provided "to the investigating magistracy", with which the institute "has been collaborating for months".

Bankitalia also reveals that it has sanctioned the institution chaired by Gianni Zonin several times since 2001 for not having set objective criteria for the share price until 2011. From that moment, via Nazionale writes, the price remained unchanged at 62,5 euro for four years, to then drop this year to 48 euro.
