Unicredit and Quaestio Sgr, which operates on behalf of the Atlante fund, have reached an agreement for the takeover of the new fund in relation to the guarantee commitments undertaken by the Piazza Gae Aulenti group in the capital increase of Popolare Vicenza (which is worth 1,763 billion EUR). It is the first test case for the new Fund which will have to guarantee the capital increases of the banks aimed at the disposal of non-performing loans (Npl). The outcome of the recapitalization is also expected to fix the price of the placement on the Stock Exchange of Popolare Vicenza set for 3 May.
"The intervention of the fund, which will be effective upon achieving the minimum funding objectives, is consistent with its institutional purposes and is subject to obtaining the necessary authorizations and approvals from the competent Authorities (ECB, Bank of Italy and Consob) and compliance with the regulatory constraints of the fund itself”, reads the note released by the management company led by Alessandro Penati.
With reference to the capital increase aimed at the admission to listing of the shares of Banca Popolare di Vicenza Spa, the agreement "provides for the subunderwriting (takeover) by the Atlante Fund in relation to the commitments undertaken by UniCredit Spa as guarantor of such capital increase".
Meanwhile, Banca Popolare di Sondrio has expressed to Quaestio Capital Management its formal commitment to subscribe units of the Atlante fund for a maximum amount of 50 million euro.
At the end of the morning, the Unicredit stock on the Stock Exchange lost 3,2%, to 3,326 euros.
