Pop Bari: Jacobini father and son under house arrest

House arrest for the former president of the Banca Popolare di Bari, Marco Jacobiniand for his son Gianluca, former deputy director general and co-director of the institute. The precautionary measure was ordered by the Gip Francesco Pellecchia, who accepted the requests of the prosecutor.

Together with the two former heads of the largest Banca del Mezzogiorno, he also ended up under house arrest Elijah Circelli, former head of the budget and administration function of the Operations Department.

Finally, the investigating magistrate ordered a one-year ban from banking functions and company management for Vincenzo Figarola De Bustis, who was first general manager of Pop Bari and then managing director until the day of the receivership ordered last December by the Bank of Italy.

The four managers are accused, for various reasons, of false accounting e obstacle to supervision for false communications sent to Consob and the Bank of Italy.

Marco Jacobini's other son, Luigi, is also being investigated together with them – as stated in the investigation documents; Giorgio Papa, former CEO; Roberto Pirola and Alberto Longo, former chairmen of the Board of Statutory Auditors; Giuseppe Marella, former Head of Internal Audit at BPB.
