Pompeii, a fascinating tour with drones told in a video

Since the beginning of the coronavirus emergency, museums, archaeological parks and autonomous state institutes have been providing audiovisual contributions of all kinds to allow people to continue enjoying the national cultural heritage. And so it is that with a drone flight over the ancient city and in the new excavations to discover the domus that have come to light, the director of the Pompeii Archaeological Park, Massimo Osanna, takes us inside thanks to a beautiful narration.

The Garden house with the splendid frescoes of the triclinium and the painted portico; the house of Orion with first style paintings and the unique mosaic of Orion; but also the environments of everyday life. An extraordinary insight into the daily life of the city.

The excavations of Regio V, made possible by the Great Pompeii Project, have brought to light extraordinary environments of the ancient city: streets, buildings with balconies, the Casa del Giardino, whose flora has been entirely reconstructed by paleobotanists, and the Casa di Orione , with the two extraordinary mosaics of Egyptian inspiration that narrate the catasterism of the Greek hero in the homonymous constellation. As can be seen from the suggestive images taken from above thanks to the flight of the drone, the Regio V overlooks via di Nola, one of the main arteries of Pompeii, an area full of commercial activities and sumptuous, albeit not large, houses. Sign of that middle class that had prospered in the ancient city until the eruption of 79 AD
