Once again the primaries bring bad luck to the Pd: in Palermo Rita Borsellino, sister of the murdered magistrate, and candidate for mayor with the support of Bersani's Pd, Di Pietro's IDV and Vendola's Sel, loses the consultation that sees the success of Fabrizio Ferrandelli, former IDV, supported by the local Pd.
Borsellino won votes in the Palermo bourgeoisie but clearly lost in the popular neighborhoods. The outcome of the vote cannot fail to have repercussions also at the center and on the politics of alliances. At the first serious test, the so-called Vasto alliance (Pd-Idv.Sel) comes out with broken bones. And what is most significant is that Ferrandelli is looking carefully at the possibility of alliances with the Center group led by Governor Lombardo.
