Pisapia launches Campo Progressista and opens up to the Democratic Party: today Renzi responds

The former mayor of Milan yesterday launched his Campo Progressista at the Brancaccio Theater in Rome, a movement that aims to unite the forces of the left from below to arrive at a renewed and wider centre-left. The Democratic Party becomes the main interlocutor: "It cannot be our enemy, but Renzi chooses who to ally with: either with Verdini or with us".

Pisapia does not prejudge leftist alliances and does not choose between Renzi and the secessionists but, precisely because it has a unitary mission, does not accept the prejudicials of others, neither those of Sel nor those of Mdp di Bersani and D'Alema. The only prejudice that Pisapia poses is against the right. And Renzi? "I have no opponents" Pisapia cuts short, adding: "The left must be able to dialogue".

On the programs Pisapia will open the Content Workshops but has already indicated some priorities: ius alone, the end of life and the crime of torture. On vouchers “I think there is room for a positive meeting point: a shameful abuse has been made of it. If an agreement is not found, the citizens must have the floor with the referendum”.

Today Matteo Renzi, who welcomes Pisapia's attempt, will respond from the Lingotto
