Pirelli, last half-year report before moving to the Chinese: Premium tires raise profits

On Tuesday 11 August, Pirelli will become Chinese with the passage of the majority to ChemChina. But Marco Tronchetti Provera, who will remain at the helm of the group that will maintain the headquarters, management and research centers in Italy, has more than one reason to be satisfied with the latest Italian six-monthly.

Pirelli confirmed its targets and recorded a 10% jump in profits (211 million euros) thanks to high-end Premium tyres, which now represent more than 50% of consumer revenues. Turnover is also growing, rising to 3,17 billion with an increase of 6,4%.

The growth in the volumes of Premium tires was decisive, which now represent over 50% of consumer revenues and which promise a further improvement within the year.

Ebit also grew while the net financial position (1.664 million euro) improved compared to March despite the payment of 4 million euro in dividends.

The board also appointed Lorenzo Sistino as the new Industrial General Manager of Pirelli & c.
