Thursday 1 February 2018 at 20.30 Pirelli HangarBicocca presents LUCIO FONTANA AND SPACE: PAINTING, SCULPTURE, ENVIRONMENTS, the meeting with Enrico Crispolti, one of the greatest scholars of the art of Lucio Fontana as well as author of his catalog raisonné, which will contextualize environmental research within the artistic path of Lucio Fontana. 

Starting from a profound knowledge of the artist, testified by a close correspondence between 1958 and 1967, Crispolti will reconstruct a story of Fontana's art – from ceramics to drawings, from sculptures to painting – and of his inexhaustible ability to pose central questions for the art of the following decades.

Crispolti (Rome 1933), a pupil of Lionello Venturi, from 1984 to 2005 he was Full Professor of History of Contemporary Art in the Faculty of Letters and Philosophy of the University of Siena, where from 1986 to 1998, and again from 2001 to 2007 he Director of the School of Specialization in Art History. Over the course of his career, he has curated dozens of exhibitions, catalogs and critical texts which make him one of the most authoritative international experts on Italian art of the XNUMXth, XNUMXth and XNUMXst centuries.
