Pirelli-ChemChina, Tronchetti: "No impact on employment"

THEagreement with ChemChina “it will have no impact on employment”. As Marco Tronchetti Provera, president and CEO of Pirelli, in a message addressed to the employees of the tire group in the aftermath of the agreement for the entry of new Asian investors. “Our factories and employment in general – said the manager – can only benefit, in perspective, from the entry of the new shareholder. Chinese partners appreciate us for our ability to produce the highest quality tires and our state-of-the-art factories around the world. These are our strengths in which we will continue to invest".

“The agreement reached with ChemChina it opens up a growth path for Pirelli that will take time, but in which I strongly believe and on which I will commit myself as a manager and as a shareholder”, continued Tronchetti Provera. The agreement provides for the confirmation of the current president and of the managerial team at the managerial helm of Pirelli, while control of the shares will be in the hands of the Chinese investor. “The premise of the agreement, strongly shared by the Chinese partners themselves – continues the message collected by Radiocor – is the recognition, as the company's main assets, of the value of our people and our technologies. The negotiated agreements guarantee us full managerial autonomy, ensure the continuity of the current management and keep our corporate headquarters and our technologies in Italy. These are the components that have allowed us to obtain the results achieved and the positions of absolute excellence that we boast today, especially in the Premium and Prestige segments". The entry of ChemChina, adds Tronchetti, "will allow us to pursue our growth strategy with greater vigor".
