Pir, Treasury: "Collection beyond forecasts"

Pagani, head of the technical secretariat of the MEF: "We did not expect a response in such rapid and immediate terms: several PIRs have been created in the last two months and I believe that the funding objective of 2 billion will be exceeded" - Profumo's comment was positive (Equity)

The government expected funding of around two billion euros a year from the new individual savings plans (PIR), but "I believe that these estimates will be exceeded in 2017 and this can only be the best acknowledgment of the instrument's success". This was stated by Fabrizio Pagani, head of the technical secretariat of the Ministry of the Treasury, on the sidelines of an Assogestioni conference.

“We didn't expect such a quick and immediate response – he added – the goal was to convey the savings of Italians towards the real economy. Our companies have products, markets, innovation capacity, but the weaknesses are governance and the absence of capital: our companies are undercapitalized and we have seen access to capital markets as the keystone”.

And “this reform immediately hit the ground – concluded Pagani – I say this with satisfaction and pride. We did not expect such an immediate response: several Pir have been born in the last two months ".

"The PIRs are an excellent thing done by Renzi and will create demand for investments in Italy", said Alessandro Profumo, president of Equita Sim, speaking at the conference "The future of the capital market" in Milan
