The Minister of Economic Development, Carlo Calenda, “met Benikem who presented a letter of intent in which he stated that he had found a Chinese partner to build the electric furnace in 23/24 months and restart the blast furnace within 7 months. Minister Calenda replied to Benikem's letter (to Aferpi) recalling that he awaits greater clarity on partners and real investment capabilities by October 31, otherwise the contract with Cevital Aferpi will be terminated ”. “Moreover, Cevital itself is avoiding other industrial partners with greater solidity and who have repeatedly expressed interest in investing – continues Bentivogli – Cevital has once again confirmed its total unreliability.
