GDP: France disappoints, Spain does not

In the third quarter, the French economy grew by 0,2% compared to the previous three months, against a consensus of +0,3% – Spanish GDP rose according to forecasts: +0,7% compared to the previous quarter, + 3,2% year over year.

Economic growth is proceeding more slowly than expected France. This is stated by the preliminary estimate on GDP for the third quarter, according to which the transalpine economy would have grown by 0,2% compared to the second quarter. At the time the GDP had recorded a negative variation, -0,1% compared to the first quarter.

In any case, despite the recovery, the figure was lower than the expectations of economists, who expected an increase of +0,3%. In detail, domestic demand contributed 0,1 points to GDP in the third quarter, the contribution of 0,5 points coming from the accumulation of stocks was much more robust. Finally, the contribution of net foreign demand was negative by 0,5 points.

The Spanish economy, on the other hand, continues to grow according to forecasts. There Spainin fact, it recorded the 12th consecutive quarter of GDP growth, which in the third quarter showed an increase of 0,7%, as forecast by economists. On an annual basis, the GDP recorded a variation of +3,2%.
