German GDP +0,4% in the fourth quarter, business confidence in France ok

On an annual basis, German growth was 1,4% – On the other hand, on the federal budget front, the deficit/GDP ratio was equal to zero after the +0,1% recorded last year.

La Germany does not disappoint. In the fourth quarter of 2013, German GDP grew by 0,4%, confirming the preliminary estimate released on February 14th. This was announced by the Federal Statistical Office, specifying that on an annual basis, adjusted for calendar effects, there was a 1,4% increase in GDP. 

In the third quarter, GDP had recorded an increase of 0,3% on a quarterly basis and 1,1% on a trend basis. On the other hand, on the federal budget front, the deficit/GDP ratio was equal to zero after the +0,1% recorded last year.

as to France, the business confidence index remained stable in February. According to the Insee statistical institute, the figure did not go beyond 100 points, the same level as the previous month, in line with operators' expectations.
