On the occasion of the first centenary of the birth (March 5, 1022) of Pier Paolo Pasolini, the Cineteca is promoting a series of initiatives including the exhibition Pier Paolo Pasolini. Figurative flashes that the 1 March 2022 inaugurates the new exhibition space of the Underpass of Piazza Re Enzo in Bologna.

The exhibition starts from the years of his training in Bologna, which took place under the aegis of a master such as Roberto Longhi, and documents his creative universe from the beginning in 1961 with Beggar to get up to Salò and the 120 days of Sodom, released posthumously within weeks of his murder on November 2, 1975.

They accompany the exhibit a publication with the same title, Pier Paolo Pasolini. Figurative flashes, and a second one that talks about its relationship with the city, Pasolini and Bologna.

The Pasolini 100 also includes the convention Pasolini in Bologna – to be held on 3 March 2022 at the Stabat Mater of the Archiginnasio –, an integral retrospectivee of his films at the Cinema Lumière in Bologna between March and April 2022, and the distribution throughout the country of some of his most representative titles, thanks to the project The Rediscovered Cinema. At Cinema created in collaboration with CSC – Cineteca Nazionale, with which the Cineteca has been bringing restored classics to Italian cinemas for a decade.
