The banks recover, but they are not enough for Piazza Affari to get back on track. Consequently among the worst stocks stand out Eni and Tenaris, with a drop of more than 2% while Saipem bucked the trend after theannouncement of the maxi-merger between the French Technip and the American FMC Technologies, which suggests a possible consolidation in the oil services sector. Saipem advanced by 1,8% at midday.

Continue to suffer too Telecom Italy -1,7%, following the placement of the 1 billion 4-year bond, for which requests exceeded 2 billion. Instead, it is the day of the redemption of bank shares: Intesa Sanpaolo and Ubi earn more than 1,5%, Unicredit also did well +1,6% and Mediobanca +XNUMX%.

In general, the other European lists are also traveling in negative territory, awaiting the minutes of the Federal Reserve expected in the evening (European time): according to analysts, it is probable that the rise in interest rates will be postponed to September. In the middle of the day, the losses of the other Stock Exchanges were worse than those of Piazza Affari: London -1,4%, Paris -1%, Frankfurt -1,6%, weighed down by the strong sales on the Bayer stock after the confirmation of theinterest in the US Monsanto.

Throughout Europe, airline stocks are down, weighed down by disappearance of Egypt Air's Airbus 320, flying from Paris to Cairo and whose wreck was found off the Greek island of Karpathos, in Egyptian territorial waters. It is not excluded that it could be terrorism. In Paris, the Airbus stock is down by 1,17% while Air France KLM is down 0,3%. Minus signs also for Lufthansa with a decrease of 1,12% in Frankfurt and for International Consolidated Airlines Group (Aer Lingus, British Airways, Iberia and Vueling) with a decrease of 1,42% in London.

Spotlight still on Rcs Media Group, which today adds another half a percentage point to its value, which is now increasingly higher than the price of the takeover bid launched by Bonomi together with some historical partners of the publishing group: 0,72 euros against 0,70.

The euro is almost stable against the dollar at 1.122125, while the Btp Bund spread, which had exceeded the threshold of 140 basis points at the opening of the session, decreased to around 137 basis points at the end of the morning.
