Piazza Affari rises: Generali and Ferrari are running, the banks are down

Piazza Affari gains 0,79%, slightly less than Madrid: the FtseMib is close to 19 bps – Cnh jumps but also Stm, Yoox, Poste and Ferrari – Bank shares and Saipem fall.

Piazza Affari travels by carriage today, indeed, in Ferrari (+3,73%) and darting on the prancing horse closes +0,79%. The Maranello house hits the mark results beyond all expectations in the fourth quarter of 2016 and also sees a pink trend for 2017. The most attractive stock, however, is Cnh, +5,39%, which recovers most of what it lost during the week. In rally, Stm, +5%, still in the wake of yesterday's boom of the Apple customer. Unicredit fell, -1,65 and the banking index at -0,9%. The worst blue chip is Saipem: -2,73%. 

The other European lists stop in no particular order. The Dax 30 is trailing at -0,27%, penalized by the slump in Deutsche Bank (-5%), due to higher-than-expected quarterly losses. Tonic Madrid +0,81% and London +0,47%; flat Paris -0,01%.

Wall Street opens negative, with the collapse of Ralph Lauren (-10,4% at mid-day), due to the disappointing third quarter results and the divorce from CEO Stefan Larsson. The three main price lists go up and down a bit, while remaining lukewarm, held back by geopolitical uncertainties and an unclear timing on rates, pending the tax cuts promised by Donald Trump.

The euro is back above 1,08 against the dollar, +0,35%, while oil is slightly moved +0,18%, at 56,89 dollars a barrel. Now running: +0,68% to 1217,892 dollars an ounce.

Tensions on Italian bonds eased, despite Brussels letting it be known that it expected "more detailed answers" from the government than those provided, on the request for correction of the accounts for 3,4 billion euros. The ten-year spread with the German bund shrinks by 2,06%, 180.30, yield 2,24%. The ECB bulletin provides reassurances on the continuation of current policies: interest rates in the Eurozone will remain at current levels, or lower, "for an extended period of time" and quantitative easing, i.e. the purchase of debt by of the ECB, will continue "until the end of December 2017 or even beyond if necessary". The fears of a tightening therefore disappear, due to inflation in the Eurozone which has risen to 1,8%. Meanwhile, Mario Draghi criticizes competitive devaluations, reiterating the importance of a policy focused on reforms and the need for a single market.

Returning to Piazza Affari, among the stocks in the foreground, we find Generali +1,77% and Mediobanca +1,56%, in the hope of news tomorrow from the board of directors and the conference call of the top management of Intesa San Paolo (-0,91 .3,68%) with analysts. Fashion flares up with Yoox, +3,85%. On the shields Poste +2,99% and Italgas +2,75%. However, the race to the bottom of Saipem -XNUMX% does not stop.

Weak Unicredit, -1,65%. Yesterday the board of directors approved the price and the details of the capital increase which will start on 6 February and also gave the green light to the mega securitization of 17,7 billion bad loans. Today the Cariverona Foundation has decided to subscribe up to 73% of its share (2,23%), for a maximum outlay of 211,6 million. Not included in the main list are Creval: -9,81% and Mondadori +5,64%. 

The first penalized by profit taking, after growth of more than 30% in the span of a month and by an analysis by Banca Akros, which forecasts a net loss of 2016 million for 222 and no distribution of dividends as a result the contraction in revenues combined with an increase in NPL coverage.

The house in Segrate, on the other hand, continues to attract investors, volumes however do not record the peaks of a month ago and remain around the physiological trend.
