THE SICKNESS OF GREECE SLOWS SHARES AND BTPs. BANKS LIFTING, FINMECCANICA HEAVY
The perspective of Greek default after the split between Brussels and Athens it caused a sharp fall in the price lists, starting from Piazza Affari, once again the most fragile market in the face of the storms.
The Ftse Mib index dropped 2,40% at 22328 points. Much worse than Madrid -1,71% and Paris -1,75%. Male Frankfurt -1,89%. London also closed with a drop of more than one percentage point.
Yields on peripheral government bonds rose: the ten-year BTP closed at 2,32% from 2,21% on Friday evening. Conversely, the yield on the German Bund fell to 0,82%, from 0,83%. The spread thus widens to 150 (+13 points). Small consolation, the differential remains lower than that of Spain (159).
The Greece effect also hit the American stock exchanges, with falls of more than half a point on the eve of the start of the Fed meeting. Crude oil is down for the fourth consecutive day. Brent at 62,7 dollars (-1,7%), Wti at 59,5 dollars (-0,7%). Eni -1,8%. The declines have spread to all sectors of Piazza Affari starting from the financial ones.
Banks go down: Unicredit -3,8% Understanding -3,2% equal to Mediobanca. The losses of the Popolari were even heavier: Ubi loses 4,8%, Banco Popular -4,5%. Mount Paschi loses 4,1%: the 3 billion euro capital increase, closed on Friday on the Stock Exchange, "went very well", with approximately 99% of the shares offered subscribed.
Between insurance Generali retreat by 2%. Setback for Finmeccanica -3,8%, while the rumors about an interest in the majority of Avio are confirmed. StM -1,7% (today the quarterly dividend was detached). Also declining Fiat Chrysler -1,9%. Pardon Enel -2% and Enel GreenPower -1,8%, is in advanced negotiations to acquire control of the Indian Bharat Light & Power for about 150 million dollars. Telecom Italy -2,1% Mediaset -0,9%.
