Piaggio: profit up, dividend up

The Piaggio group recorded revenues of 2011 million in 1.516,5, up 2,1% on 2010, and a consolidated net profit of 47 million (+9,8%)The BoD will propose to the shareholders' meeting to approve the payment of a dividend of 8,2 cents per share, compared to 7 cents in 2010.

Consolidated EBITDA was equal to 2011 million in 200,6, up 1,7% compared to 2010, the EBIT was 105,5 million compared to 111,1 million in 2010. Net financial debt consolidated as at 31 December 2011 decreased to 335,9 million.

In 2011, Piaggio sold a total of 653.300 vehicles worldwide (+4%), of which 415.000 in the two-wheeler business (scooters and motorcycles) and 238.300 in the three- and four-wheeler commercial vehicle business. Worldwide, the progression of sales relating to the Vespa brand should be underlined, which in 2011 exceeded 150 units.

Despite these positive numbers, the Piaggio stock is still negative on Piazza Affari (-1,40%).
