The Ministry of Business and Made in Italy (Mimit) gave the go-ahead to a development contract proposed by the Piaggio group, which involves a investment of approximately 112 million euros to expand production in the Pontedera plant, in the province of Pisa, with a focus on eco-sustainable technologies.
Green light for the E-Mobility program
The industrial development program "E-Mobility” involves the introduction of a new line of electric motors for zero-emission vehicles, along with five industrial research projects. These projects aim to develop components and systems for electric vehicles, as well as digital solutions for safety, vehicle health monitoring, driving assistants and cybersecurity.

The Ministry, recognizing the value of investments that allow for reduce dependence on Asian suppliesee improve mobility solutions with lower environmental impact, ha allocated over 38 million euros of benefits from the Fund "Automotive Supply Chain Support“. These investments will contribute to the strengthening of the departments in Pontedera, which already employ 50 software and digital manufacturing specialists. The agreement will be managed by Invitalia on behalf of Mimit.
