Dropshop will revolutionize the real collecting experience
As the only global house focused onart, design and luxury items of the XNUMXth century and contemporaries. Dropshop is poised to modernize the shopping experience in the spirit of Phillips' ongoing commitment to shaping the changing marketplace, the continued digital innovation and creative incubation.
Dropshop will launch on Sunday 20 August with the works of Australian hyper-realist Cj Hendry
There Hendry as an artist embodies the spirit of self-representation, broad inclusion and democratization of the marketplace. For the first time in its upcoming Crown Series, Hendry's "drop" will feature one hundred bronze crowns, reminiscent of inflatables, along with a large-scale drawing of one of the crowns. The pieces will be released on the Dropshop at 10am ET on the 00th, after an in-person experience Aug. 19 at 432 Park Avenue with a “treasure hunt” through thousands of inflatable plastic crowns. Cj is committed to zero waste principles in practice. Any remaining plastic crowns will be recycled and used in an upcoming exhibition. This is a testament to his dedication to sustainability and his desire to create art that is not only visually stunning but also environmentally friendly. By reusing materials, Cj is taking an innovative approach to art that is both creative and mindful.
Who is CJ Hendry
Cj Hendry (born 1988) is a New York based artist originally from Brisbane, Australia. Hendry transforms his fascination with contemporary material culture into large-scale hyper-photorealistic drawings. Hendry's exhibits are meant to be actively experienced through exhibits that are engaging, entertaining and inspiring. For his Monochrome show, Hendry and his team built an entire multi-room “house” inside a warehouse with each room painted entirely in black and white from floor to ceiling and everything in between. For Rorschach, guests jumped through a giant maze of bouncy houses to finally reach and see the impressive series. Every Cj Hendry exhibit, from Miami to Melbourne, draws huge crowds with attendees waiting in line for several hours and, in the end, everyone walks away more enriched than when they arrived. With its celebrity clientele – and many works in private collections – Hendry's waiting list is now over 3.000 collectors with a wait time of up to five years.
