Philips: useful -32%, but confirms target

Philips archives the second quarter with a profit of 289 million euros, a decrease of 32,9% compared to the 431 million recorded in the same period last year. The Dutch electronics giant specified that an unfavorable comparison basis weighed decisively on the result, given that extraordinary revenues had been recorded in the second quarter of 2016. In any case, the company has confirmed its targets for this year.

As for turnover, it rose by 4%, to 4,29 billion, while the ebitda showed a growth of 15%, to 439 million. "We are on track, despite the volatility, to deliver sales growth of 4-6% in 2017 and an EBITDA improvement of around 100 points per year," said executive director Frans van Houten.
