Oil: Eni obtains 3-year exploration extension in Angola

Good news fromAngola for Eni. The six-legged dog society announced in a statement that it has obtained from the Angolan authorities the extension of further ones 3 years of the exploratory period relating to the prolific block 15/06.

The exploration period expired last November and the new concession will allow Eni to complete the exploration activities already identified: the drilling of 3 wells e one thousand square kilometers of 3D seismic.

Block 15/06 is located in the deep waters of Angola, about 350 kilometers northwest of the capital Luanda and 130 kilometers east of the city of Soyo.

According to Eni, the extension also includes an area adjacent to block 15/06 which includes the Reco-Reco discovery, estimated at about 100 million barrels of oil in place, which can be brought into production quickly.

"The obtaining of the extension of the exploration period of a prolific block such as 15/06, with the inclusion of the Reco-Reco discovery area, represents for Eni the recognition of the ability to successfully exercise the role of operator, which requires the combination of technological innovation and great operational efficiency. This is another important result for Eni in Angola”, commented with satisfaction theCEO of Eni Claudio Descalzi.
