Oil and telecommunications lift the stock market

Piazza Affari rebounds, together with the other European stock exchanges, thanks to the boost from energy stocks and TLCs. Recover the Turkish lira at 3,34 against the euro (+1,7%), after yesterday's plunge of 3,9%, following the news that Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu will resign within this month due to disagreements with President Erdogan. The yield on the 10-year BTP rose to 1,51%, the spread with the Bund at 130 basis points.

Il Petroleum Brent Brent gained 2,5% to $45,8 a barrel, it accelerated after the release of data showing a sharp drop in US crude production. On the market shines the star of Eni +2,2%, which replaced Total +0,7% in the European Focus List. Meanwhile, the Spanish Repsol advances by 5% after better than expected results. Tenaris +1,7% and Saipem +1,6% also performed well.

It also advances Telecom Italy +2,7 to 0,8685 euro on the back of the good results of British Telecom, up 2,6%. The British operator (+6% profits and revenues on the balance sheet ended 31 March), has announced that it will invest 6 billion pounds over the next three years to build the super-fast fiber network and extend the 4G mobile service. Since the beginning, British Telecom has recorded a 4% drop on the Stock Exchange, the Italian company 26%. Mediaset shines +2% after the better than expected results of the subsidiary Mediaset Espana.

The brokers' eyes will be focused more on the turnover forecasts for the whole of 2016 which will include the effects of the 8 billion euro order with Kuwait for the sale of 28 Eurofighters. 

Stm +1% and Prysmian +1,5% also grew. Weak Fiat Chrysler -0,2%, in line with the performance of the Stoxx automotive index. Finally, Yoox rebounds +2,3% after the declines of recent days. Tod's +1,4%.
