The price of petrol registers a sharp increase in the wake of rising oil prices.
Based on the tables provided by the Mise and updated to 14 May, the average price charged on the Italian network is back above 1,6 euros, reaching the highest since July 2015.
As reported by Daily energy, the price of petrol in self-service mode today costs an average of 1,615 – with the various brands ranging from 1,615 to 1,629 euros and no-logos at 1,592 – while in serviced mode it even reaches an average of 1,739 euros per litre.
The cost of the Diesel, which settled at an average of 1,483 euros per liter in self-service mode, the highest since June 2015, with companies going from 1,486 to 1,509 euros (no-logo at 1,466). In served mode, diesel costs an average of 1,614 euros per litre, with company points of sale from 1,599 to 1,673 euros (no-logo at 1,507). Lastly, LPG ranges from 0,631 to 0,657 euros.
Substantial increases that, according to Coldiretti "In a country like Italy where 85 percent of commercial transport takes place by road, the increase in fuel prices has a snowball effect on spending with an increase in transport costs as well as those of production, processing and conservation”.
At the root of the surge is the increase in the price of Petroleum, which is raising its head again after years of crisis: Brent today settles at 78.05 dollars a barrel, Wti is at 71.09.
