PetroChina, profit boom: +2.290%

Super accounts for PetroChina: the Chinese energy giant recorded an almost unreal boom in the first half of 2017, multiplying its profit by 23 times (+2.290%!), mainly thanks to the rise in the price of crude oil in this period. An increase from which shareholders will benefit above all, with a very rich dividend in sight: profit has in fact risen to 12,67 billion yuan, corresponding to 1,6 billion euros, while in the same period of 2016 it was just half a billion yuan, equal to just over 60 million euros, when however PetroChina had seen its profit plummet by 80%, to an all-time low.

In the last year, however, the price of oil has risen, sufficiently to propitiate the exploit, even if the values remain halved compared to those reached in 2014. "Oil supply and demand have once again reached a point of equilibrium", explains a note from the Chinese group. The same turnover recorded an excellent surge in the first six months of this year, with a +32% to almost one thousand billion yuan, 122 billion euros. Following the release of the accounts, PetroChina stock rose more than 4% on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.
