Pensions Quota 100: it's booming, already 50 applications

La share 100 triggered the rush to early retirement. In twenty days they have already arrived 50 questions to INPS of those who, having or assuming they have the requisites provided for by the new law (62 years and 38 of contributions), ask to be able to retire as soon as possible.

Of the 50 workers who ask for early retirement over 38 thousand, as reported by Il Sole 24 Ore, they are men. The workers of private companies prevail over civil servants: 18.867 applications from the former and 17.077 from the latter, followed by artisans and traders.

At the territorial level, the questions obviously come from the most populous cities: Roma leads with 3.875 instances, followed by Napoli (2.393) and from Milano (1.895) and, soon after, by Palermo, Bari, Catania e Torino, all with over a thousand applicants.

The Government estimates that this year the new law will push 290 workers to apply to receive early retirement and then the instances drop in the following years but the fact remains that the race to 100 risks seriously jeopardizing the already precarious balance of public finance.

Il Sole calculates that, if we assume an average annual pension of 28.300 euros for private individuals, 30.200 for public employees and 18.400 for the self-employed, the greatest pension expenditure may amount to around 4 billion euros this year then go up to 7,8 billion in 2020 and 8,3 billion in 2021.

Still on the subject of pensions, the possibility appears in Parliament to amend the decree, expanding the ransoms in favor of seasonal workers. But, politically speaking, the biggest problem concerns the appointment of the new INPS president, since Tito Boeri is about to expire and certainly not renewable due to the opposition of the majority shareholders. On this terrain, the distances between Lega and Cinque Stelle are still large and it is not excluded that a ferryman could be appointed, who could be the expert Paul Reboani of the Ministry of Welfare.
