Pensions, green light to free accumulation for professionals

After more than a year of negotiations (it was foreseen by the 2017 Stability) the agreement between INPS and professional funds which ensures that all those who have paid social security contributions both to their respective professional funds and to INPS can now apply for a free cumulative pension: here are the methods and advantages.

Pensions, green light to free accumulation for professionals

Green light to the free accumulation of contributions for professionals. The agreement between Inps and Adepp, the Association of private social security institutions, after a year of investigation (it was provided for by the 2017 Stability Law) finally arrives in port and it will potentially affect 700 active workers, of whom 70 are already over 60 years old. In practice, all those who have paid social security contributions both to their respective professional funds and to INPS will now be able to apply for a free cumulative pension.

The free aggregation therefore allows you to add up the periods of registration with different entities (perhaps because one's working life has been discontinuous) to obtain a single pension, even if in none of the managements, taken individually, the required contribution requirements have been accrued. The cumulation applies to both old-age and early retirement pensions. Accumulation is a more advantageous system than totalization, which has the same objective but ensures a lower pension benefit. With aggregation, in fact, the various contribution periods are counted exclusively with the contribution system. With cumulation, on the other hand, those who have accrued a period of contributions for which they are entitled to the application of the salary system maintain this right

Specifically, the IT procedure to make the request will be ready in about ten days, as explained by the president of INPS, Tito Boeri, illustrating the novelty together with the counterpart of Adepp, Alberto Oliveti, and those who had already invited the application (5 thousand workers to date) will not have to present it again. On the other hand, almost nine thousand workers have already submitted an application for accumulation between different INPS managements in recent months: this procedure is simpler, while it was more complicated to establish how the workers who only paid in part to INPS and the rest to the professional cashiers.

It was decided to proceed on the path of the "progressive training pension", i.e. the application must be presented to the last institution with which the professional was registered, but the treatment will be paid pro rata: the part of the pension linked to higher requirements will be paid only when the latter have been met. Among the professional funds interested in the novelty there are notaries, lawyers, architects and engineers (Inarcassa), accountants, journalists (Inpgi), psychologists, veterinarians, nurses, pharmacists, labor consultants, sales agents, doctors and dentists, surveyors and accountants (the complete list).
