Pensions, cuts coming for private coffers

Rain of cuts arriving for the pension funds of professionals. On Wednesday, the Council of State accepted the appeal by Istat and the Treasury against Adepp (the Association of private social security institutions), annulling two sentences of the Tar and confirming the inclusion of these private bodies in the Istat list of public administrations included in the state's consolidated income statement.

This is not a mere procedural formality, since it really is a series of measures envisaged by the spending review refers to that list. In particular, the heaviest interventions will arrive on the so-called "intermediate expenses", those for goods and services, which will undergo linear cuts of 5% in 2012 and 10% in 2013. Funds to be paid to the State into a special account.

'SAdepp the levy should amount to approx 6 million euros this year alone. And the squeeze will also be felt on a number of other items such as salary caps, service cars and conferences.

“The sentence establishes only the inclusion of the funds in the Istat list, it does not decide on the rest – commented Andrea Camporese, president of Adepp -. Of course, however, there is now a real risk that the cuts that must be paid to the state will have to be made, without any benefit for the accounts of private and privatized coffers. It is obvious that the sentences must be respected, but it is also evident that the judicial battle in defense of the perimeter of autonomy cannot be stopped". Coming then the appeal to the Consulta
