Pensions, Renzi: "Consulta does not say to pay everything immediately"

Prime Minister Matteo Renzi clarified that the Consulta's ruling on the stop to indexation does not order the Government to immediately pay all the difference due - "Intervention as soon as possible, in compliance with European rules" - "We had to go back on some measures".

Pensions, Renzi: "Consulta does not say to pay everything immediately"

“The sentence of the Consultation it does not say that everything must be paid for tomorrow”. To say it is the premier Matteo Renzi, commenting on the sentence with which the Constitutional Court rejected the stop to the indexation of pensions contained in the Fornero law. The premier's hope is that "the sentence offers margins, we will study the cards in detail, we have known this since April 30, let us take the necessary time to avoid making mistakes like those who preceded us".

Surely the decision of the Consulta will weigh on the so-called treasury, so much so that Renzi admits that he "had to renege” some measures and that the sentence opens up some "problems of public finances", problems which, however, according to the Premier, are "widely within our reach and our ability to solve them".

Any solution, in any case, must be "credible at European level: the sales will not change, in any case we will keep the European rules". Renzi, who announced that he will intervene on the matter as soon as possible, then spared no stings at those who “like Brunetta or Meloni, voted for the reform of Fornero and now he says, however, you had to do this … ´ .

"The provision of Monti's technical government - continued the premier -, rejected by the Consulta, was voted by the Italian Parliament and even those who contest it today and blame Fornero were there to press the 'yes' button".
