Pensions, Women's Option: 5-Point Guide

The audience of women admitted to the early retirement option is expanding: here are the rules on personal data requirements, years of contributions and mobile window

Pensions, Women's Option: 5-Point Guide

Among the very latest innovations introduced by the 2017 budget law there is also an important modification of the women's option, i.e. the mechanism that allows women to access early retirement by accepting a check entirely calculated with the contributory method (less advantageous than the mixed system contribution-remuneration to which they would have been entitled).

1) NEW ADMITTED TO THE WOMEN OPTION

The option is extended to employed women born in October, November and December 1958 and to self-employed women born in the last quarter of 1957. In other words, it includes women who were 57 (employees) or 58 years old (employees). the autonomous) on 31 December 2015. Nothing to do, however, for women born in 1959.

2) CONTRIBUTION REQUIREMENTS FOR THE WOMEN OPTION

In addition to the personal data requirement, to access the women's option there is also another condition to be met: it is necessary that the same workers, again by 31 December 2015, have accrued at least 35 years of social security contributions.

3) WHAT HAS CHANGED SINCE 1 JANUARY 2016

Since 2016, the age requirement for the female option is 57 years and 7 months for female employees and 58 years and 7 months for the self-employed.

4) THE FLYING WINDOW

From the moment of accrual of the requisites, the mobile window applies for the effective date, i.e. a period that must elapse (12 months for employees, 18 for self-employed) before the actual payment of the pension.

5) WHEN DO YOU (REALLY) RETIRE?

Women born between 1 October and 31 December 1958 (or 1957 if self-employed) acquired the right to the women's option on 31 July 2016 at the latest, because two adjustments to life expectancy that have taken place in recent years must be taken into account : one for 3 months in 2013 and another for 4 months in 2016. In all, 7 months.

Therefore, an employee born on 31 December 1958 achieves the right to the Women's Option on 31 July 2016 and, also considering the 12 months of the mobile window, will be able to collect the pension from 1 August 2017.
