Between 2012 and 2017, i.e. in the first five years of application of the Fornero reform, the number of pensions paid in Italy fell by 3,9%, going from 17,2 to 16,6 million. The treatments lost along the way are little more than 664mila and most of these concern private employees (-601.391). Followed by the self-employed (165.420 less pensions), civil servants (-54.671) and semi-subordinated (-21.240, net of supplementary pensions). The numbers are contained in the latest INPS social report.

As far as the details are concerned, the latest data available, in the 2017 the INPS supported expenses for institutional services amounting to approximately 313 billion euro, of which approximately 257 billion euros for pensions, 38 billion euros for income support benefits and 18 billion euros for expenditure on civil disability.

The document shows that in 2017 the Institute ascertained a revenue contribution of approximately 225 billion euros, including €200 billion for pension benefits and around €25 billion for social protection benefits.

The difference between benefits paid and contributions received is therefore negative by 88 billion (-57 billion for pensions alone).

In 2017 INPS also received from the State transfers for about 110 billion euros intended to cover pension costs, to maintain wages, to assist the family, to reduce social security contributions and contributions, for civil invalidity and other interventions.

INPS: STATE OLD-AGE PENSION DOUBLE THAT OF PRIVATE PEOPLE

The INPS Report also shows that the amount of state pensions is on average more than double that of private workers: 2.456 euros gross per month for men and 1.748 euros for women against 1.170 euros for men and 858 euros for women. women.

For self-employed pensioners, the amount is 858 euros for men and 629 for women. For para-subordinates, net of supplementary payments, the allowance amounts to 1.142 euros for men and 705 euros for women.

The gross average monthly amount of retirement/early pensions paid in 2017 was instead 2.450 euros for men and 1.758 euros for women among former private employees, while among former civil servants it was 3.091 for men and 2.281 euros for women.

INPS: IN THE SOUTH ALMOST TRIPLE THE DISABILITY PENSIONS THAN IN THE NORTH

As for invalidity pensions, in the South and in the Islands they are almost triple compared to the North: for every 100 inhabitants, the ratio is 2,4 treatments provided in the North, 3,2 in the Center and 6,7 in the South. overall, 2017 disability pensions were disbursed in 932.289, 3,3% less than in 2016.

INPS: ALMOST 70% OF REI APPLICATIONS ACCEPTED IN THE SOUTH

The geographical imbalance is even more evident in the case of the inclusion income. As at 30 September 2018, there were 787.982 applications presented and 375.799 accepted, of which 252.269 came from the South (67,1%). The applications accepted in the central regions were 53.042 (14,1%) and those in the northern regions 70.488 (18,7%).
