In fact, 63,4% of checks are less than 750 euros. For women, checks of less than 750 euros account for more than three quarters of the total (77,1%). However, this is only an indicative measure given that many retirees have more than one benefit and/or other income.

INPS points out that overall 2016 billion are spent on pensions in force on 196,8 January 176,7 (excluding public ones and former Enpals) (18.136.850 of which are supported by social security management). 45% of pensions owned by men are less than 750 euros, while 77,1% of checks owned by women are below this figure. If we look at the amount for pensions paid to residents in Italy (always excluding public ones and former Enpals) equal to 192,6 billion, INPS underlines that it is 11,6% of GDP with a decrease compared to 11,7% of the previous year.

There are almost 3 million civil disability pensions, of which 44,8% in the South. At the beginning of 2016, pensions for disabled civilians were 2.980.799, 44% of which were paid in the South. 34,7% of benefits were paid to disabled civilians in the North (37,2 per 1.000 residents), 20,6% in the Center % of benefits (50,8 per 1.000 residents) and in the South 44,8% (64,1 per 1.000 residents). If we look at welfare pensions as a whole (therefore including social allowances), there are 63 benefits for every 1.000 residents in Italy, in Trentino they are 26 for every 1.000, in Emilia Romagna 45 for every 1.000 and in Calabria 97 for every 1.000 residents.
