In order not to create new redundancies, the Government is thinking of bringing forward the retirement age "also with the contribution of companies". This was announced by the Minister of Labour, Enrico Giovannini, specifying that the technicians are "working on the details" of the measure.
The hypothesis is being studied "in these hours with the Ministry of the Economy", continued Giovannini: the objective is to develop "a robust proposal" from a legal and financial point of view.
It would be a "flexible instrument" due to the subjective conditions of the workers: "The idea - concluded the minister - is to have a contribution from three subjects (State, companies and workers). We are evaluating and working. We will present the idea to the social partners”.
