Pensions, Fornero: "I don't forget the exodates"

"An important reform, which has removed the risk of financial collapse". Thus the Minister of Labour, Elsa Fornero, defined the contested reform of the social security system. Interviewed by Radio Anch'io sul problem of exudates, i.e. those who, with the provision launched by the Monti government after leaving their jobs, have seen their retirement times lengthen, Fornero then added: “I take charge of them, I have not forgotten them. I have undertaken to find a solution by June 30, I hope to succeed sooner, but the resources must be found to allow the largest number of these people to access retirement with the previous rules".

“When general problems have to be solved, sometimes you don't have the time to deal with particular ones – added the owner of Il Lavoro -. We appear cold technicians but splitting the country is the last thing we want to do“. The minister also underlined how the recent rifts with the trade unions, on various issues including precisely that of the exodus, create "anguish". “We have always carried on a sincere dialogue with the unions. We have never given any ideological orientation to the discussion and we have never put Article 18 under an ideological lens”. "The last thing we want to do is split the country," Fornero reiterated.
