Pensions, redundancies: a shared solution is being sought between Parliament and the trade unions

Find one solution shared between Parliament and trade unions on exodus workers. This is the objective of the meeting that took place in the Chamber, between the representatives of the Labor Commission and the secretaries of CGIL, CISL, UIL and Ugl. “We have opened a discussion – explains the president of the commission, Silvano Moffa – on those workers who, as a result of the Fornero reform, they have no income and will not be able to take advantage of the pension. It is a table that is committed to finding an overall solution to a problem of substantial inequity".

The technical table will begin to meet already in the next few hours to frame the problem normatively. “Parliament intends to reaffirm its centrality on the very delicate issues affecting the welfare state and which cannot be solved with numbers alone, because behind the numbers there are people and therefore action must be taken seriously and concretely“, emphasizes Moffa.

The commission has long been on the agenda a bill of the Democratic Party, first signatory Cesare Damiano, but also awaits the ministerial decree on exodus which must be adopted by 30 June. The debate that has been opened aims to find a solution for all the workers involved, focusing more on identifying the types involved than on the numbers. ” We are waiting for the ministerial decree – underlines Damiano – and for now we have an unofficial text. I set up a technical table. We would like to work quickly also to identify the necessary resources".

“The goal – underlines Susanna Camusso – is the maintenance for these types of workers of the law in force before the ax of the reform“. Bonanni points out: "All those who have signed agreements by December 31st must be protected". “The path identified – explains the confederal secretary of the Uil Domenico Proietti – is the one for which those who have signed agreements have the right to see the old legislation applied".
