Pensions and subsidized part-time: INPS instructions

The 2016 Stability law introduced a subsidized part-time for employees in the private sector close to retirement. To take advantage of this new possibility, two requirements must be met: to reach the minimum age for the right to an old-age pension by 31 December 2018 and to have already accrued the minimum contribution requirements for the right to the same treatment (20 years).

In particular, the employee with a full-time and permanent employment relationship can agree with the employer the reduction of working hours by between 40 and 60% for a period not exceeding that between the date of access to the benefit and the date on which the worker accrues the personal data requirement for the right to an old-age pension.

From an operational point of view, the 2016 Stability Law provides that access to subsidized part-time work is authorized by INPS, at the request of the employer and subject to agreement between the parties, within the limits of the resources allocated by the maneuver and on the basis of methods established by decree by the Ministry of Labour

About this, Circular 90 of 26 May 2016 describes in detail the requirements and conditions for taking advantage of the benefit and provides the operating instructions for presenting the application.
