A "25% withdrawal as a solidarity contribution for pensions above 200 euros“. It is not a real amendment to the Monti government manoeuvre, but an idea launched in the Labor Committee of the Chamber by the Minister of Welfare, Elsa Fornero. “I make the proposal – added the minister -, now the ball passes to you, to Parliament. This is not a sop. We'll see if there are any unconstitutionality profiles, but in the meantime the proposal is there”.
In any case, the Executive intends to close the issue of amendments on the subject of pensions in the next few hours, easing the more severe measures such as the de-indexing of checks. “The government's attitude – explained Fornero – is one of mitigate the harshest things, including the non-automatic equalization of pensions. These are the hours in which I hope we will close, not with everyone's satisfaction but with confidence in the future".
The minister also announced a speech in favor of class of '52, particularly penalized by the pension reform: "There will be an attenuation, which means something modest, however, compared to the strong increase in working life required".
