Pd, Schlein's subservience to the Five Stars leads him to split even on aid to Ukraine: scandalous

Exactly the opposite of what the Democratic Party had done a year ago, when it voted in favor of sending weapons to Kiev. But there is more: the Democratic Party did not have the courage to reject a Five Star motion which even called for a stop to military aid toUkraine. Luckily in the Democratic Party there are still free souls who have rebelled against the official line of the secretary Elly Schlein which is leading the party to level out on the Five Star Movement or, better yet, to become more and more the bad copy of the populism of the M5S, pushing away any possibility of understanding with the forces of the center and effectively burying the construction of a reformist and pro-European alternative to Meloni's right-centre government. The comment of the former foreign affairs director of the Democratic Party, Lia Quartapelle, was furious and she proudly claimed her consistent support, including military support, for Ukraine ("it's a choice of the field") and did not send her to tell Schlein: "We can see about Ukraine that Elly doesn't put her heart into it."
