Patuano, Telecom: "The plan doesn't change, on the network and towers go it alone"

The number one of Telecom Italia confirms the line of the group, after the presentation of the project for broadband in Italy presented by the government. And he rules out going back on the Metroweb hypothesis

Patuano, Telecom: "The plan doesn't change, on the network and towers go it alone"

“We've already said it for some time that we're going it alone and we've also demonstrated it, because we've already increased our investments for a year now”. The CEO says so Telecom Italia, Marco Patuano, referring to the possibility that after the government's ultra-broadband plan, Telecom could turn to other subjects, such as for example Metroweb for the new ultra-fast network that could arise around the company controlled by CDP.

"This hypothesis does not exist - added Patuano - we do not expect to work on corporate paths on our network other than our investments".

Same answer about the broadcast towers towards the IPO: "There are no alternative projects with other operators: we are preparing the papers in an orderly manner and plan to do the IPO before the summer", said the manager, in relation to the towers, replying to journalists who asked him if there could be Telecom Italia's involvement in the takeover bid of Ei Towers on Rai Way.
