The patent war is over, at least in part. Samsung e Apple have agreed to put an end to hostilities outside the United States, closing the lawsuits opened in a dozen countries, where the Korean giant has already been sentenced to pay hundreds of millions of dollars to its US competitor.
On the other hand, the ongoing disputes before the US courts on the licensing of patents for smartphones and tablets will continue. The battle between the two big names in technology has been going on for almost four years now.
It all started with a complaint filed by Apple for some patents related to its iPhone, to which Samsung responded with legal action in eight countries: France, South Korea, Germany, Japan, Italy, the Netherlands, Great Britain and Australia.
